Spotted this misdescribed Hotpoint Countess earlier this evening.

Looked at it and thought that something was a wee bit different with it.

Only three switches, rather than the more usual four.

Its the Hotpoint Model 1201 heaterless Countess, from the end run of the 'Traditional Power' machines (not 1955), and is the first that I have ever seen.

Thought it should be flagged up here...

Hi Al, Hope you are well..belated new year wishes !!

The Hotpoint Countess was launched in 1955 along with the Princess, but this machine does not date from then, i would say nearer 1975. The first machines that came about had red fitments only, either on a white or cream cabinet.

I think what Paul was referring to by "Traditional Power" was how Hotpoint listed the two "Wringer" machines in their early to late 1970's brochure. (from the brochure i can remember @ home)
