HotpointFan - Go for it!!!
Optima - The WM5 Series was the more basic version of the more stylish aquarius machines.

I need some sort of project for the summer holidays, and as my zanussi is in the house i cant play with it anymore, so i am thinking of getting an indesit to fix and sell. Its near me too.

That's because it is called a WMS38, no idea why Hotpoint called it that. Good luck with the Indesit, but they aren't very good as when I visited the tip there were about 5 or 6 ones that were all less than 3 years old. Jacob

I understand your point Jacob, But as its just going to be my little toy in the garage to play with when I get bored, I think it will last. I will fix it and either intergrate it into the house or sell it and get a few quid for it. Its definatly worth it, and provided I have the time and money, I will make that indesit last good if I get it. What I know for certain is that new bearings for these machines last longer than the ones prebuilt when the machine was purchased. So therefore I should get more life out of it with the new bearings. The WM64 you filmed at the tip - If it was me there, I would have taken it straight away. I have been looking out for one for nearly 8 years. So I feel if I put the indesit on ebay saying "Delivery Around Lowestoft&#92Yarmouth", I can then say in the description that I will take the old machine away. That way I might find what I have been looking for - You never know, I might find a 95 Series Machine...

Thanks for saying that. The Hotpoint wma series were very unpopular and if you look in British Heart Foundation store you will find that these shops have thousends of them which people could not wait to get rid of.

The Hotpoint WMS38 was still a standard 5.5kg washing machine as with the WMA30's. We had a WMA58 6kg with the powerstream wash system which is still in daily use at aunts, no problems whatsoever apart from a wire coming loose which was fixed by myself. They were one of the last WMA series machines.

I know quite a lot of people with WMA series washing machines, people with the earlier models had bearing failure which was a common fault. My aunt had a WMA76 for around 7/8 years until the end of 2010, that machine did 3 to 5 washes everyday and never had a single problem until the bearings went so it was replaced with an LG Steam F1479FDS6.
