Hi all

Remember that Zanussi S218T on Ebay, well I won it! Apologies to anyone else also bidding on it!

It really is in mint condition and still has its induction motor. All seems well except the door which doesn't lock properly, one to look at me thinks! All in all a superb machine which my courier brought to me at 7.30 this morning.

I've only tested a rinse and spin and done a few quick piccies. All a bit rushed I'm afraid.

Before you all ask, I will be doing a video next week, with the full 400 to 800 spin.

Take care all and enjoy

Rob

One of the groovy, orange dial. It has one button for Economy. Not sure what it does yet.

Here is one with the door open. The early machines, didn't have the double circle at the back of the drum. However the drum itself is typical Zanussi.

Look familiar

This early Hotpoint Liberator was made by Zanussi. Now I can really see the similiarity.

Hi there Mike

Thanks for the nice comments, it really is nice and weighs an absolute tonne.

I wasn't aware that Darren was after this machine! I would have chatted to him otherwise. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to speak to him for weeks, I hope he is OK.

BTW you have email.

Take care

Rob

I always feel proud when I see

ZANUSSI

Here those were branded REX (and stil are even if Electrolux bought Zanussi's brands). Of course the most reliable popular machine mnufactured here!

Thanks for the CASUAL response I feel MILES better now,
Good to see you could respond to my email in person, tell you what..... I will buy local machines from now and wont inconvenience you in anyway by bidding on ebay. Sorted - much like how you percieve your effort to apologise to me here.

You will notice that this message is directly addressed to you formally and not in your casual style to avoid any confusion whatsoever.

Cheers

Berating people in public

Rob (Aquarius 1984)

I feel your mail above is very unfair and I can honestly say that I have not received any emails or texts from you at all in recent months. My casual apology was in case anyone had bid on this as well. Had someone wanted this I would have been more than happy to discuss and am not in the business of trying to outbid people who really want something. The ebay thread it appeared in showed no one was going to bid on this, so I thought why not have a go!

I find this sort of public berating of people and making comments that cannot be unwritten, are not in the spirit of this forum. Personal differences should be taken outside.

I'm sure this can be resolved but I repeat, I have received nothing at all in recent months from yourself and I can assure you that even if I reply late, I always reply.

Now back on with the S218T

IrishMark, Diomede and Seamus

Thank you so much for your messages and offer of parts. It's really worth knowing there are bits and pieces around for the old girl.

Diomede, I'm in London at the moment but the machine came with 2 hoses for hot and cold. I will see what I can do.

All the best

Rob

Pristine Zanussi

Hi Rob,
Congratulations on wining such a pristine Zanussi, it looks like brand new.
They were extremely reliable, refined and quiet machines.

As I understand the situation the Zanussi was listed on eBay? Well eBay is an auction so you have no need to feel guilty about winning the auction. Highest bidder wins simple as that!

Happy washing.

David

Hi David thanks for your nice comments!

I was actually feeling a bit sick about logging in this morning, about what might be written. Not very nice really, but I needn't have worried.

Darren, I've just realised I left you off the above thread at 12.32. Thanks for your lovely email. I'm hoping to run a proper load tomorrow as my partner is out all day. You won't have to wait long, hopefully will be on youtube next week!

Take care

Rob
