Jacob, if you're looking at deodorants, make sure you pick one that is alcohol free. Alcohol is products like deodorants and mouthwash, whilst it works, it dries you skin out so it's really not good for you.

Even before we went completely eco, I was using Sanex, Sure and Dove alcohol free roll-on

I can't use alcohol on my skin at all.

If I use an alcohol containing deodorant it burns and I'd literally be yelping in agony trying to wash it off!

Mouthwashes have a dramatic effect on me too - mouth peels! I get a similar reaction from some toothpastes and narrowed that down to SLS.

I switched to about 10 years ago.
At that time I just thought about what was used before WWII
Pure Soap (lye soap)
Liquid castile soap
Borax
Baking soda
Washing soda
Bon Ami
Vinegar
Barkeepers Friend
Steel Wool
These where mainstays found in the home.
Knowing how to use or combine.. You can definitely get things clean.
Clorox has been around a long time, and was available before WWII. And while I don't use it often, I HAVE to have it around. Sometimes it need to be used in laundry, and defiantly used in the toilet bowl.
