Transition

Yeah, we have been in transition for several months mow. When I buy the All in One tabs at Costco, the canister has the co-branded Finish/Electrasol on the outside but the tab wrapers just say Finish on them. The only exception to this are the Quantum tabs. I was at Safeway the other day and I noticed that the powders and gels all say Finish now.

IS the new Finish just the old Electrasol formula in a new box, or is it a different formula.
The old Electrasol brand goes back to the 1950's, I remember using it in our first GE Mobile Maid dishwasher.
We have been using Finish with a good results. We found the huge box of it on sale at Target for $3.00 (USD).

Yep, that's what's happening in Canada

I actually saw a TV ad saying that 'The new name for Electrasol is Finish'.
Funny but when I was a brat, I remember both Finish and Electrasol were available, then Finish went away...

I will tell you this...

I purchased some gel at Publix cuz it was on sale (bogo). I had been using the poweder in my Bosch with great results. The gel left alot to be desired, mostly on the silverware. Some pieces would come out looking like they never had been put in the dishwasher. Have gone back to Great Value brand powder this week. It also has new packaging. Haven't used it yet, will today so hopefully it will do as good has it has in the past.

If you want a dw detergent that has chlorine in it, click on the link below. We use it with great results, and it reminds me of what dw detergents used to smell like. I just fill my detergents cups with the amount I normally use. We buy it at our local farm supply store, Mills Fleet Farm. I posted about this in the thread asking what brands everyone was using. Hytron is made by Stearns Packaging Corp. Madison, WI

Electrasol gone here for awhile here in the Atlanta area....

Electrasol has been gone here in the Atlanta area for about 6 months now.
I then saw the Finish brand fill the shelves.
I have not bought the Finish brand because of the experience that I had with the last two boxes of Electroasol that I bought. It was just lousy! Would not clean anything. Esp. my lipstick on my wine glasses. (another thread)
So after this experience, I just decided that I would not try the Finish re badge.
I am now wondering if they were playing with the Electrasol at the end to make it less effective? I know that would be a dumb move. However while I was cursing the boxes that I did buy they were playing like mad the new commercials for the new Finish on television.
So....I am getting from this post you guys like the new Finish?
I still find that the price is very good.
Also, and sorry to ramble....At Dollar General....I love "Sunsations". It will clean anything! Has anyone else used it? I use Sunsations and Cascade these days.

I have Finish. On the box it says that it used to be
Electrasol. I checked the contents...still has chlorine and phosphates.

Finish

Well, they change the name all across the world. It is because Reckitt Benckiser sells this dishwasher detergent in so many different countries with so many different names ("Calgonit" here in Germany). So I think they decided to have only one name to the same product which had so many different names so long. That boosts the recognition value as well.

In my opinion, the makers of Electrasol let the brand languish for years before finally changing it. It finally ended up being a bargain basement brand by the time it was changed to Finish.
I also remember the original Finish brand here in the US from the 70's.

Finnish took over for Electrasol, here in Roanoke, last year.
I use it all the time and get great results with it. It is Chlorinated.
Even with our hard water, I never used any rinse conditioner, and glasses are always spot-free.

I think Finnish is a great product!
