Electrolux Branded Detergent

Had reason to pop to Darlaston, West Mids today to pick up something new for the collection - no not a Servis lol we wished....

Did stop by at Servis but soon departed after seeing what a sorry grotty state the place was in but soon moved onto the Currys Mega Store at M6 Jct 9.

Wow what a store!

Supposedly the UK's biggest electrical store, and I mean it is massive!
Stacks of machines 10s high in wall formation.

Had a good nosey for sure when we spotted the entire Electrolux Detergent range they offer.

Last week we got the Dishwashing pack at another store but only saw the washing liquid today.
Had to get some to try well it was only £5.86 for 40 washes.

Ecological with the scent of Savon de Marseille - its devine.

Done 2 rather sudsy washes with it and mightily impressed - stains out and gorgeous scent in.

Does not seem to be McBride or whatever, says made in Italy but after a very quick search nothing was obvious as to who makes it.

Would post a pic had Paul not taken our camera back home with him.

Has anyone else had the pleasure of using this?

I have 6 bottles due on Monday

I had to pay postage so obviously I had to order 6 to make it worthwhile

Think it worked out bout £4 odd a bottle.

Unfortunatly being 2l bottles it would be VERY expensive to ship overseas

One can achieve the same effect by adding a bit of grated or liquified or by other method, Savon de Marseille to unscented laundry detergent.

Have been doing this for ages, and even posted such here in the group.

Savon de Marseille is either a soap people love or hate, and at least in France, by law is mandated to be made of pure veggie oils. Though olive oil is traditional, one can also find palm oil as well. Middle eastern countries began making "olive oil" soap ages before the French, and indeed one can find such soap in Europe (Savon d'Alep), and all over the world. Some people pick up huge chunks of such soap when visiting Syria.

Either way, such soaps have been the basis of cleaning in France and other places for ages. Used for amoung other things, laundry, laundering fine linens, personal body care, infant care, washing up and so forth.

There are also many "French" laundry products imported to the United States, that are based on SdeM, however you have to check the scent. Many are scented with lavender or some other scent.

While many persons use pure SdeM for laundry, much like our grandmothers would have used Sunlight or Fels soap, find when better, especially for washing machines to use a blend of detergent and soap. This provides the added boost of cleaning with soap (nothing gets rid of oils and grease better), with the fresh soapy scent, without risking gunking up my washer and all the other problems associated with using pure soap for laundry.

Savon de Marseille

Scented detergent can be found all over France, Italy, Germany and other European countries, by many brands. It is no wonder AEG/Electrolux slapped a label on a product made in Italy. There are even fabric softeners with the same scent.

The AEG/Electrolux detergent also comes as a powder, again same as found all over Europe.

As I said, SdeM is very much a generic soap all over Europe. Some people love the scent, others can't stand the stuff.

I love the scent of well matured savon de Marseille. However, I have found that those products that claim to be scented like savon de Marseille smell awful and their scent has nothing to do with the real piece of soap.
