Decided to pick up a new dryer. I'm hoping this is a good one! €449.95 (at today's rate supplied by Google that's : £311.23 or US$634.69) - Seemed reasonably good quality, high spec and good value for what I am getting. I compared it to some of the other mid-priced dryers and it seemed to be a LOT better.

I didn't understand why the Hoover 8KG and 9KG models are rated as that big. They didn't seem to have all that much space in the drum...

Anyone had any experience with the Electrolux model above?

I'll post a review once I get it delivered (which will be at the weekend as I can't be here to get it earlier)

Well it arrived and I've run the first load of laundry through it. The results were excellent i.e. dry, fluffy towels without static.

The build quality of the machine is very good and it doesn't seem to be very 'plasticy'. The drum's stainless steel, the filters and condenser are all pretty robust looking. It has a fully stainless steel drum with 3 large wave pattern lifters.

It came with a drying basket for trainers, pillows, stuffed toys and woollen items that can't be tumbled. I haven't tried it yet.

The machine has about 15 programmes, selected from a centre-mounted knob, much like a Novotronic Miele.

There are also some option buttons :
Buzzer ON/Off
3 Dryness levels
Delicate button (reduces the temp on any programme)
A start/pause button
Delay start button (to make use of night rate power)

The black on white backlit LCD display lights up while the machine's running. It gives you a count down time to dry. It also displays any error messages, and various icons appear to remind you to clean filters, take the clothes out and fold them etc.

There are also 3 LED lights which come on to remind you to clean the fluff filter, clean the heat exchanger (condenser) and to empty the water tank.

The condenser unit's easily accessible by pressing a button inside the main door. It opens a small door under the drum which gives you access to the condenser / heat exchanger assembly.

It seems to be quite easily cleanable.

The machine also has an interior light.

It seems to have good capacity, it has a 7KG dryload capacity which is pretty good.

The programme list:

Cottons : Extra, Intensive, Cupboard, Iron
Synthetics : Extra, Cupboard, Iron.
Special : Mixed, Timed, Jeans, Easy Iron.
Rack : Wool, Shoes

and 10 min cooling

All can be modified with Delicate, Buzzer, Dryness (Min, Med, Max) or time.
