It sounds like this includes Frigidaire brand too. If you have such a dryer, This should serve as an extra incentive to stay on top of accumulating lint.

I have an Electrolux-made dryer but it does not have the ball-and-hitch bearing design, AFAIK. It has three rubber rollers that are bolted to the frame which the drum rides on. I have seen the plastic duct they are talking about, though. When I took my dryer apart to clean it last autumn, I noticed the large grey plastic blower housing/exhaust duct. Luckily, mine had very little lint buildup.

I also saw the heating element is entirely different than the older rear-coil design. It has what looks like a gas burner box under the drum, which contains several electric heating coils.

My grandmother has a dryer from the late 60s that may still be going even to this day. I'm not sure because she has long passed and her home is rented to renters. I never go there. But the dryer was a Kenmore and I don't ever remember taking it apart to clean it. I've taken the front panel of my Duet dryer and noticed lint accumulated in that area and vacuumed it up, but take the entire dryer apart? Is this supposed to be done?
