Electronic Stores

Hey guys,

as a flight attandent I'm often in the US now and I'd like to ask you about names of great electronic stores because I didn't find any so far. Electronic stuff is much cheaper in the US than in Germany and that's why I'm looking for those stores. Can you help me? My next trip will be to New York, maybe someone knows a bigger store around there. The hotel is in Manhatten. Is there any store around or near Manhatten. If not, I can use he subway. Thank you in advance for your help.

electronic components like transistors, caps,resistors or fully working machines like cameras, dvd's , camcorders?

for fully working machines B&H in manhattan usually can't be beat, for components most stores are only online these days, places like Mouser.com,,

These guys have had a major online business for years, and catalogue mail order before that. I've never been to their NYC retail store but here's the address:

Thank you so far guys. In May I gonna be in L.A. and San Fran. I know that some of you come from those cities. Any hints where I can find those stores there?

There's also B&H photo in New York too. They are always closed on Saturday though and of course, on Jewish holidays, since it's owned by a Jewish family. They started out primarily selling cameras, but now they sell lots of pro audio and video gear, and are sort of a step above your typical suburban big-box store. They do sell home AV gear stuff too though! It's a fun store to go in. When I was there, I spent about 4 hours in there playing and tweaking with all the cool stuff!
