End of Story AND a Suds-Return Duel between " a UNAMATIC an a ackwa Lady K" ;'D

When the lady died, the man was sad and he felt comforted working on his new and barely used Unimatic, always trying to disguise it as a Norge. Doing so reminded him of his beloved wife and relieved his grief for a while, bringing a smile to his face.

And one day he forgot that the Uni was spinning because it is so quiet and at 1140 rpm's, it becomes almost invisible. When he reached in to do some agitator work, the whirling tub got him and he went to bliss to join his wife. (I will spare you the Coroner's details .)

Their grown children pushed the Frigidaire aside, right next to the Norge, covered them where they remained for 50 years. As you may imagine, the children send all of their laundry out, and have never owned a washing machine. And that is the story of how two washers remained in perfect condition.

This pic is dedicated to Mark Lighted Controls who taught me to adore machines that light up. So now i have a portable lighted control that I can use with the machines which are not so gifted.

The Lady Kenmore looks like a sweet machine. I wish they made machines like that today.Both the Lady Kenmore,and the Unimatic have something that most machines today don't have,and that is individuality,class,and QUALITY.

It is the individuality I miss most. I've linked the Suds-saver directions on p22. from the Owner's Manual selection on the main page of AWorg.
The Uni is the king of flexibility in that you can save wash, rinse, overflow-any water you want. But for automatic suds-saving Whirlpool/Kenmore wrote the book. Had a party on May 10th with about 50 people, and the Aqua Lady K was the talk o' the town. Since you're a Sears man, you can appreciate the difficulty in a forced choice between a Unimatic and a Lady Kenmore. They both reek of class, and I'm not choosing.

Have you tried appliancetimers.com ? I think that might be your best hope. I don't know if there's one here in Pensacola,Florida or not.There isn't many old appliances lying around here.The oldest you might see in your thrift stores are late eighties maybe,but the main reason is,because the Gulf of Mexico is here,our air is humid,and salty.If an appliance is left outside for a period of time, it won't be long before it's rusted out beyond hope.Also,some people will grab an old appliance,or anything of metal in broad daylight,and take it to the metal scrap yard and sell it.

BEN--you're telepathy is at full charge. In Robert's thread you spoke of the washer Gods, and in the up-coming story what you do is so in synch with them, it's almost as if you read my mind.

JIM-- thanks so much. Instinct and intuition had me thinking that somehow the Canadian Sears might have them timer, but your suggestion seems wiser. Worked for Addressograhp/Multigraph back in the day, and we threw nothing out. There were several floors in the bldg full of "old stock" Wonder what happened to that as standard business practice.
