kinda interesting website-don't agree with replacing working appliances with "Energy Star" ones-now we need the energy to dispose of good working equipment!what a REAL waste.wise use of older machines can save power over buying new ones-and not using them right!Too bad this website doesn't focus on worksites as well!Lots of 'Energy Hog" workplaces out there!worse than the homes!Oh well-if they use the energy and pay for it-I don't worry about it.

On the Other Hand...

We would eventually pay more for those things due to energy waste at the plant, among other inexcuseble reasons. You're right about older appliances, "if they ain't broke, then don't fix Em," as the saying goes, especially if the units were well built in the first place.--Laundry Shark
