Well, it is very clean and very cheaply made, poor thing, like most Tennessee stoves. I doubt it was anywhere near $400 when brand new. If the seller loves it that much, he or she should forget about selling it and build a room for it so that they can keep it.
Ranges made by Hardwick were, to my mind, very good quality ranges, The Browns were good in the early years , but Enterprise , Modern Maid ,Vesta etc, made decent gas stuff but very cheap electric stuff.
