from what I gather, the whirlpool never been serviced, except for the fill and drain hoses, which was taken from the maytag, can't tell about the belt, looks OK, and the bolt holding the motor doesn't show signs of adjustment, the agitator took some strength to get the cap off and tugged alot to get it out, a little dried lint and soap scum, but that was it, either she took very good care of it, or it was built to last, the only rattle is the control panel, the clips that hold it down are weak, put your hand on top and its silent, there's no play or knocking in the bearings either....this is a little too good to be true, but it works, what can I say?.....
and the Maytag, after sitting all those years, and yet brand new in looks and function, and they both sat in a basement, not musty but you know theres always some form of dampness that would cause some rusting...go figure...
and you know these machines are ALL STEEL METAL, they are heavy monsters to move, even with a dolley...
