Our house came with a delightful knotty pine rec room (which is more aptly a "wreck room" at the moment, and I have been working to consolidate all the booziness in there.

Here is a fun little Salvation Army bar, with a "Silver King" milk cooler that makes a dandy bar fridge. My great aunt Rose Melia's china cabinet makes a good bar back for liquor and glassware

...featuring the return of the Mobile Maid!

Nominally, it is a glassware dishwasher, but since we don't have a sink with an appropriate faucet in the basement (we'd have to rip out our fabulous laundry sink, and I don't want to do that) this will probably function more as an ice bin than an actual glass washer, but that's not important right now.

Dan you do not need to tear out the sink

Worse case senario is you might have to replace the faucet but if I am not mistaken all you need to do is get an adaptor that screws on to the tip of your present faucet so the Unicouple on your Mobile Maid will fit. It would be a crying shame to use that beautiful dishwasher to store cold drinks in. That is just my personal opinion anyhow. As for the rest of your Rec Room...... I LUV IT !!!!!!PATRICK COFFEY

Fabulous, Dan, as usual. Love the West Bend bean pot and the "aquarium gravel" art. And good heavens, is that a can of Bab-O on the sink?

That bar just *screams* Highballs!

Veg, That is something called "Kitchen Klenzer" which I get at the dollar store, and buy soley for the label - it's so retro.

The dollar store has the best cleaning supplies, btw. I think it's just the regular stuff in off-brand labels for some reason.

Patrick, I've looked and looked for an adaptor for that stupid laundry sink faucet, but no luck - and the faucet itself seems to be integrated into the sink. Besides, I thought the idea of the dishwaher as a ice bin would be campy, and It wouldn't hurt any of the mechanisms.

(Like most of my ideas, I cribbed it off someone else: My neighbor's house came with a Maytag wringer washer that they fill with ice and use as a beer cooler during parties. )

If nothing else, running it would be a good way to clear people out at the end of the party. That thing is LOUD :-)

Dan, does the faucet have a removable aerator on the end of the spout? You need the narrow-nipple adapter. In the package will be a fitting to use if the spout has inside threads instead of outside threads. In HD stores, they are sold near the plumbing accessories like replacement aerators and are on a card with plastic covering the adapter. They are still sold because some portable washer connectors use them. If you can't find one, I will look for one to send you.

Love the talent you have for making things look great.
Tom
