Excellent Condition Frigidaire 1-18 in San Diego

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I would love to get this machine to replace my LG FL. I had a mid 70’s Frigidaire back in the 80’s and 90’s. I wonder how much it would cost to have it shipped here?

It's mine, it's mine!

Think of a happy bear that spent the afternoon biting all the nails and lighting a cigarette after the other.

Now waiting for Kevin arrival, right at this very second he's on his way to San Diego.

I think the 2+ years strike will end soon because of that unexpected Christmas surprise (Thanks for posting, Robert!)

How good is it for a certain type of protein stains?

It's alive! It's alive!

The 1-18 finally arrived this morning.

I couldn't wait longer to hook it up and use it, but first, of course, a super hot wash using DW detergent and sanitizer (just in case)

Im glad that Kevin warned me about the water level so, the first load was a full load of white towels, but I started on mini and gradually raised the level. Perfection was between low and medium. On medium the rollover wasn't really impressive and on maximum, rollover? What rollover?

Rinsing was intriguing and a surprise. Spray rinse drained clear.. interesting... then I let it fill for the rinse and realized I could add fabric softener (I always rinse to perfection first and then add the FS in an additional rinse.

Results were wonderful.

Now the "only" things I need is a fabric softener (id definitely use, knowing that I can trust the rinse), a new bleach cup and and the pulsation cap (mine came with a huge epoxy thing because it was cracked.
I'm completely in love with it.

A little background...

It’s a later model, only 2 cycles and a normal lint filter instead of the “bed of nails” filter of the earlier models. Picked it up from the original owners and the only reason they were selling it is because they remodeled their kitchen and put a front loader under the counter, so no room for a topload washer anymore.

@revvinkevin

I can't thank you enough.
You're always helping me with the crazy washer hunting, but you've never driven so far to pick up a washer for me.

If it wasn't you, my dream about having a Frigidaire in my collection would never come true.

I had a WO-65 in Brazil (It was a gift form a AWO member that lives in Argentina) but I was never able to find the torque spring and the water/oil boots, so never finished restoring it. Yesterday, for the first time in my life I could finally wash a load in a Frigidaire washer (ok, I've seen your Frigidaire running several times, but that's not the same as having one to call "mine".)

As a "newbie" with a Frigidaire, I can say I'm super impressed. The cleaning performance is impressive and the spray rinse performance is ridiculously perfect.
