I was very pleased to be chosen to do a very good estate sale, only about a mile from my house. The lady had lived in the house for 70 some odd years and when the son walked me thru there were several things that made my eyes pop. One of the items in the basement was all covered up, but it looked very interesting. I was not able to uncover much at the first walk thru, but I did get the keys to the house about a week later, and of course I made a beeline for the basement and the laundry area! Here is what I found:
(PS, Im posting some pictures of other things in the house on the Super section)

I have not plugged it in yet, as Im not arranging the basement items until next week. I am definately buying this from the estate with the hopes that I can find a matching washer someday to make a set from. If not, then its probably up for grabs and I will sell it. It sure made my heart skip a beat to see the beautiful condition of it, and it even have found it at all!

Jimmy! That dryer is in fabulous shape!!! All covered up and everything...just like it was wrapped as a present...not even any dust to clean off. Congratulations!!!

Very cool, and I bet that basement was heavenly in the winter when she'd dry her wringer-washed clothes in that filtrator!

There are no adaptors above the tub faucet, indicating that there has never been an automatic washer installed in the house.

You boys are very perceptive! hahah You missed one thing tho that I ALWAYS get when Im working on an estate. Its a can and its on top of the refrigerator. A whole unused can of R-12! Yeah!! So hard to find and so expensive now for us antique air conditioned car owners............

What a nice machine! I consider control towers to be that sort of "appliance gold" that is an ultimate find. Especially one that's in that great of shape! I love those things...would be the ultimate for a mid-century modern home! What does the wringer look like?

Hi Jimmy, very nice find indeed! Congratulations, the DI-57 looks like its in great shape. A little swipe of the lint brush and you should be ready to go! Please let us know how it works.

All I can say is WOW!

It's the dream of finding a treasure like the Control Tower that makes my heart race every time I walk (make that run) up to an estate sale!

Terrific!

Venus :-D
