With "shrinkflation" (reducing the amount of product but keeping the same price or charging more) making headlines, it seems cookie and candy makers are actually marketing it to a gullible public. There's Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Thins, OREO Thins, York Peppermint Patty Thins . . . the list goes on. A simple price check reveals you get less for the money when you buy "thins". And you probably eat twice as many.
What's the appeal? Why?
