Juice anyone

Couldn't leave this sitting on the shelf. Got the box and the original paperwork.. was bought new in 79. Amazingly quiet and the motor takes a good minute or two to wind down when you turn it off.

What great finds, Pete!!!

I do have this Dormeyer. They are not very common. It's from the early 60's. I love the "over the top" look.

The iron looks like a good find. The condition is fantastic. Everything you got seems to be in excellent condition. Enjoy your new toys in good health. What time is coffee !!!! :-)

That's quite a Cleopatra Dormeyer Percolator

You got there. Are the feets metal , the handle plastic?
Nice hammered aluminum iron ; you should only use it to iron
your pegged Levi's that you wear for daytime rides on the
new Honda. And, I always say : one can never have too many
Mixmasters, especially for giving!!!!

Great finds Pete, That Dormeyer coffee maker is so neat. I can just see that at your next dinner party, why the entire neighborhood will be so jealous!! On the right side of the base next to the word Dormeyer there appears to be a switch, can you tell me what that is?? Thanks Terry

The base appears to be metal as is the band and top of the handle, the vertical ribbed part of the handle is a plastic. The little switch is for brew and keep warm. I gave it a little polish and it looks much nicer now. Looks like they were going for an Eygptian or Eastern theme with this perc.

Me thinks you can have too many mixmasters. I've got about 8-10 of them now in varying states and shouldn't get anymore, unless of course a pink one shows up which I don't have.

That Dormeyer...

...looks like it was designed as a decorative accent for the inside of Jeannie's bottle, LOL.

I love Dormeyer mixers, and those have huge variations in styling. It seems that Dormeyer was forever tinkering with trim and handle variations; it's very difficult to date the company's mixers. Evidently, the perc division was even more ambitious!

Your Dormeyer percolator needs a bust of Nefertiti to go with it. I have two nondescript Dormeyer hand mixers, one in chrome.

Thanks for the information Pete, That must be something like the reheat setting on the GE pot-belly.

Here's what appears to be an unused Hamilton Beach Scovill hand mixer, that looks to be designed to match the styling of this blender.

DORMEYER trivia

Dormeyer was based in Chicago, I see lots of vintage pieces here.
Back in the 1930s or 1940s, their aluminum machining plant had a huge explosion that literally blew people onto North Avenue. Airborne aluminum powder can ignite!
I'm not the DORMEYER expert though... I'd like to know about this Chicago company but can find little data.

Nice mixer with the wall mount holder. There may even be a matching electric knife and mount as well.

I think I have a Dormey hand mixer somewheres but without the beaters. The place where I found the perc etc also has a large Dormeyer stand mixer and a Westy as well. but I figured I'd bought enough for now

Here's a Hamilton Beach Scovill knife, in avocado and light green, not design compatible with blender or mixer, but it screws to the wall. You have to put the cord in the drawer. I found a chrome Dormeyer stand mixer with metal bowls, but it was pricey(for me)and I want my first stand mixer to be a Sunbeam.

That Dormeyer perk is golden - literally!

The Dormeyer perk is a model 22 from the early 1960's and get this - the gold metal bands are really 22K gold plating. This was the TOL of their percolators - I guess they were out to compete with Cory's 'Crown Jewel' which had 24K gold plate. I am an absolute Dormeyer nut - I have 50 or 60 mixers, plus blenders, toasters, frypans, and one electric knife. Sadly most of that stuff is packed while I am trying to find a new house...

Hey Paul... you'll have to post some pics of all/some of your Dormy stuff and anything else neat you happen to have... everyone loves pics...

btw.thanks for letting me know it's real gold. I've never seen this model before.

Does anyone in automaticwasher.org know someone named Kelly who used to be a member of this site? I received an email in regard to something I pictured here. I hate to seem distrustful, it was a very kind and generous message. I would hate to think though, that someones identity may be used for something unseemly. Please let me know. In the meantime, groove on Mom's old GE.
Alan
