Looks like new, and it's probably worth the $2,200 they're asking for it.

More pix in the CL ad.

If it wasn't so expensive I'd try to talk my sister into this one.

I agree Eddie.  My sister has plans to re-do her kitchen, but they aren't definite.  She has a frumpy old 40's style white double oven Wedgewood that she says she'll never part with and which I hate the looks of, but this range is just as solid and could be a perfect element in any kitchen remodel.  I'll bet it would fit where her current stove is, so it's not like she'd need to store it indefinitely.

I highly doubt the stove will sell as quickly as claimed.  Typical antique dealer hype from someone who has positioned a high starting price point from which to negotiate down.  Looks like it just came in within the last week, so the price won't likely drop voluntarily for quite a while.  I saw a 1930's 6-burner Magic Chef that was on CL for about a year and the price never dropped from $2,500.   However, if this seller needs the space, he/she might be willing to wheel and deal early on.  Unless they know another range like this won't be coming along again any time soon.

You're probably right, Tom.  I didn't have to think about it for long before deciding it was worth pursuing.

So typical of my sister.  She replied to my e-mail with positive comments about the stove, but stated that the griddle had been chromed and therefore couldn't be used.  She didn't realize that she was looking at the griddle cover.  Of course, her older and common looking stove has no provision for a cover on its griddle, so the concept of a cover is foreign to her.

Two more shots for the archives:

That price

Honestly if I had that in my shop I’d get significantly more for it, refurbished and with a warranty of course. I’d put a $4995. tag on it and wait for the right person to buy it. Go price out a big chill stove or any of the other faux vintage stoves and you’ll understand.

Nice stoves like that are getting harder to find
