Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I recall my parents redecorating our kitchen to the 'beautiful' hues of the Spanish trend that came through in the early 70's. Lots of gold, green, orange and dark-stained wood, dark floorcovering. At the time, it was all considered very stylish. Within a few years, everything went light and airy again.

Scott, I'm with you; I love blonde cabinets and woodwork. It's one of the things I like about my house, which was built in 1963.

The bottom line? Use what makes you happy.

Veg, I couldn't agree more!

My ex had this thing for "modern", although he admitted that the more traditional look was much more comfortable.

Everything that I now have are things that make you feel at home. Some new, mostly old. No particular "theme", just things that make me feel good and comforting when I walk in the door. Some things have a story or some meaning if you will, but they all seem to work together. No "statement of style" intended or needed.

It's the bottom line, "Use what makes you happy". Well said!

My dream kitchen

medium wood cabinets, no desing in the wood, just plain flat cabinets with chrome pulls(circular)

white/offwhite/grey counters, formica perferably.

Built in oven and stove, my favorite of the retro colors is aqua, so the DW and sink should be that color as well.

Black & white checkerboard floor.

Mosiac tiled backsplash, white with blues, reds, yellows...
