Failed Bosch Classix

Hi all

Has anyone here replaced carbon brushes on a Bosch Classix 1400 WAE28162. Our machine has died after a pathetic 2 1/2 years and given the arcing sound that preceded today's failure, I suspect the bushes. Not impressed with this machine at all...

Advice much appreciated!

Thats wierd, 2 and 1/2 years thats very less. I usually thought of Bosch as top but the classix are the bottom of the bosch range, they all use the same parts anyways.

I hope you get the problem sorted and it provides you good service.

Lee! I too own the "bible" that is the haynes manuals! I have 3 the older version with a cutthrough newwave on the front and the new one & the washerdryer one too

They helped me teach myself most of the repairs that my friendly repairman didn't have time to show me!

Best to call out your local engineer rather than attempt this job yourself.
Without meaning to be patronising if your unsure how to do a job like this its best not to work on the machine at all.

Advisable to call out a local person than the manufacturers, BSH because of cost.
Better to spend a bit now and live tommorow I say!

A Mate of mine has just replaced the brushes in his 1400rpm Bosch, said it was a bitch to do but it can be done.

Will see if he can explain what he did, its mostly getting into the machine IIRC thats the bitch.

Shouldnt be too hard to do for someone with knowledge around a washer.
