I'm afraid the trappings of fall have no power here in NYC. Despite their appearance summer is still going full blast :-(

It seems like every year the blow-up Halloween decorations get bigger each year-they have a witch that must be 2 stories tall!-A giant demon that flaps its wings-would bet that young Halloween fans may be really frightened by these things!Now what sort of inflatables will Christmas bring?

and no doubt we will see Christmas items in the stores by Halloween. of course, some had Christmas in July, which by the oldest calendar is actually when it was. Summer ends Sept. 21st. Fall ends December 21st.

It seems Christmas has already started, I noticed a new display of boxes (they used to be tins not that many years ago) of Christmas chocolates (candies) - Roses, Quality Street, Heroes and Celebrations - last week in my local, small supermarket.
We are not quite so big on Halloween here, but the displays of fireworks will probably appear soon

The Halloween stuff has been out for weeks already around here, but I was pretty sure it was fall when everything advertised was pumpkin flavored.

I am so glad that I do not live in Atlanta anymore!
I got treated to a behind the scenes tour of a Bloomingdale's store for work recently (nothing to do with retail, we were inspecting the property for the owners) and they have their Christmas stuff rarin' to go in the stockrooms.
Christmas ribbons are out at Costco, but not the trees, yet.
Next week we are forecast to have 4 or 5 days of 90F or above.
