i've get a westy a lot like that first one,but mine is a little newer(Ca.1955
i recon)and has plastic blades shaped kinda like a GE vortilux.An interesting fan
i got this year has four deep pitch dark brown rubber blades and no guard-no brand
found on this fan...

Didn't mean to hijack the thread or anything. The newest patent date on my fan is 1917, but I think that means it was made circa 1919. It runs fine but with some bearing rumble, and the little cup holding the spring/wick tends to drip oil. Never been able to figure out why unless they all did that when they were new, which seems unlikely.

Keith, the clock is a Telechron Dispatcher. It was made during WW II and has a notice that the OPA (Office of Price Administration) ceiling price is $4.95. It still operates silently and keeps perfect time. Everyone seems to love it. I think there is even one shown in "The Cat in the Hat!"
