Farberware Percolator Model 104 Proper care and feeding?

Hello all, I've had this cute little guy for quite some time now, but have only recently started using it with any sort of regularity.

My primary question is about the best way to go about cleaning it. It was really clean when I got it, and it's still fairly clean, but I can tell that I am losing ground lol.

Also, any other operating tips would be most welcome.

What a lovely percolator! I use denture tablets and water to soak the coffee stained parts...

Put the denture tablets in the basket and perk like you would for coffee.  Dishwasher detergent in the basket, and then perk as for coffee also does wonders.

That's very nice. I saw one of these at a flea market several years ago, and thought about buying it, but didn't.
