Faster fills for Maytag Dependable washer

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

You can either drill or take out the flow washer restriction in the MT valve or you can install a WP BD inlet valve, Pt # 358277 and it will really fill fast.

Having this valve in WP BD machines is why they did such a good spray rinsing [ and rinsing overall ], it might cause a MT to water-lock when it is doing s SR however, you would have to experiment.

That WP valve I mentioned when set for warm water fills at a rate of around 9 gallons per minute, almost 3 times faster than the original MT valve.

Hey John L, I brought that one but, the hose seems to be too small for the valve nozzle. I didn't want to force it and damage the hose opening. What I'm I missing?

John, would that valve fit on my '87 MT 712?  I have the cold tap turned down in order to make the warm mixture warmer, but as a result I'm sacrificing a full flow of cold water for the spray rinse, not to mention the slower fill on a cold deep rinse.

1/2"valve outlet, you can force the smaller 3/8" Maytag hose on the larger nipple, put the end of the hose in a mug of boiling water that you heated in a MWO just before you install it, You may not even  need a hose clamp, I have done this at least 100 times over the years on various washers.

You may also have to bend the coil terminals slightly so they do not short on the inside of the cabinet as well.
