Usually these are from what are referred to as "Independent Baptists" they stress that they are not a part of any organization, such as the Southern Baptist Convention, usually they are closely affiliated with groups such as Bob Jones University, and other strictly King James Version Literalist's Usually the type who take 1 verse and build a whole doctrine on it...for instance, most Southern Baptist churches accept other versions of the Bible than the KJV, not the independants.....as one radio preacher was supposed to have said years ago..."If hit was good enuf fer Jesus, Hits good enuf fer me!" LOL!

Mardi Gras this year in Louisiana

The weather sure put a damper on celebrations this year! Parts on I-10 were closed, sleet & ice on the roads made traveling difficult. Attendance for parades yesterday were noticeably less, not very many events were canceled.

Bourbon Street on the news looked a lot less crowded than usual on Fat Tuesday. My first Mardi Gras in 1971 was like this one, cold & rainy and miserable. But as we say here in Texas "There is always a spell right before Easter".....
