Favorite Dryer Design?

What is your favorite Design. Mine personally is the Front filter Whirlpool 27"/DOTT Dryer. The 29"/top filter dryer is my least favorite. It simply takes too long to dry in my opinion even If I clean the screen after each use. My second favorite is the maytag Halo of heat design and the maytag SOH design. Feel free to state your opinion. I hate how many of the 29" units have no medium automatic cycle or have the wrinkle guard. the wrinkle guard on the automatic cycle every time makes the dryer take 2 1/2 hours to dry a load of clothes. my LG DLE5977W takes about 45 minutes.

Well Kelly, you didn't look at Maytag very closely.

Both have Medium heat options for auto dry. Wrinkle Guard is option at the end of the auto dry cycle for both these dryers.

I like the lg

design. I've noticed that even though the back of the drum is stationery with the heat grill on the upper right corner, heat is evenly distributed throughout the load due to the considerably higher airflow.

Whirlpool duet quad baffle design is my favorite. Quiet and fast.

Fisher paykel smart load is my second favorite..

Though, the Neptune dryer 99’ series is a beast!

Any older Whirlpool or Kenmore built 29” dryer before 1966 in gas with the 37,000 btu heat output. Even if my 1963 Whirlpool Imperial dryer is electric, it gets quite hot since the glass window is quite hot to the touch in operation when drying towels.

I too must say that the WPMT quad baffle dryer is the best I’ve ever used. Quick. Quiet. And dries mostly uniform compared to others I’ve used. The quad baffles are perfect for tumbling small loads that ride the drum of every other dryer.
I have the Elux dryer now. I’m NOT a fan. It’s slow. Doesn’t fully dry most of the time despite cycle times around 60min for almost everything. The giant filter ledge is constantly getting clothes and socks stuck on it in anything smaller than a full load. I have to use a “helper towel” now.
It’s really sad sad Elux saddled their awesome washer with such a crappy dryer.

My 1963 RCA Whirlpool Imperial dryer is my first Whirlpool built 29” dryer I’ve owned and so far it hasn’t let me down in terms of drying performance. Very versatile in temperature options and never has damaged anything I’ve ever dried in it. I’d say it’s even more gentle with the speed bump style of baffles and there’s hardly any lint on the lint screen after I dry a load of laundry in it. One of the best dryers I’ve owned so far.

Oddly enough, I have used or owned nearly all the machines mentioned above.
My current Duet dryer has the quad baffle design, and I love it. However, I do find that it runs warmer and takes a touch longer than our older 29" top filter Kenmore. I loved the SoftHeat feature. My grandparents had a 29" front filter machine that was easily the biggest dryer I have ever used. All that extra space was great for even temperature and airflow. This is something the smaller Duet lacks.
Personally, I do not like LG dryers as they tend to have very hot normal cycles, and really underdry on the casual cycle.

my lg/kenmore dryer

does a great on the normal cycle. I've used heavy-duty to dry a full load of blue clothes and jeans, only to find my jeans started to shrink. I use the normal cycle with medium heat for 41 minutes on normal without energy-saver. I find its hot enough to get things evenly dry, and will shorten or lengthen time depending on the size of the load and moisture content.

I also like the

matching lg/Kenmore washer to the dryer with the rollerjets and turbowash to scoop up all the water to saturate everything.
