Since I can only hook up about 5 machines at once, I have been trying to move a set in (and out) each month to use. These I bought from Jimmy a few years back. They are from 66 and just beautiful.

And one of the tub....

I am getting better about posting pics, Now I automatically take one of the tub as I usually get asked for one later!

I'd like to see some detail shots of the control panels. Familiar ... but slightly different. The cycle description tags are spaced a bit further apart.

Close ups...

This is a very flexible machine, you can choose any speed combination you want! Auto is pre programmed, but you can override the pre set speeds with the right hand dial.

The ABC's of Kenmore

Interesting to compare the years and how the letters meant different cycles. A was always Cotton Linen White, and B most of the time was Cotton Linen Colored-The rest changed all the time. You can also bypass the preset temps and have a cold rinse or cold wash and rinse.

Don, fabulous set; I don't think I've seen the 1966 model Kenmores on here. Yours are just stunning! What is the model designation of these?

Boy Don does that set ever bring back memories. My parents bought this set new in 1966. Ours were in coppertone. My favorite set that they ever had. Replaced in 1978 with another Sears set. They never had one service call on them until the washer died. Thanks so much for sharing these.

Very kewl!

My aunt's Kenmore 800 (that's what I call it, but there was no specific labeling) was very close to this, but a couple years later. Same control layout for water level, cold water selections, and speed. The cycle order was different, and it had a 3-speed motor.

Don, I agree. I remember seeing this dryer & LK similar variants with this type of "dial" and didn't match the washer's dial. Thought it was stupid. And thank you for the pics. Does this drum's bulkhead rotate or is it stationary?

are you sure they are a '66?

My parents had that EXACT washer and I'm certain that it was a '68. It was replaced in 1980 by a DAA Kenmore, which was replaced by a Hotpoint, which was replaced by a new Kenmore Elite. I remember the work my dad and I did on it. Belts, wig-wag, cracked softener dispenser.

Memories!!

This is the exact set my mother had she purchased them new in 1966 what a great set thanks for posting if anyone knows of a set like this for sale id be interested I do believe I still have the original owners manuals
