Very interesting that with a room full of Speed Queen coin-ops, the dryer she's taking clothes out of @ 1:00 & 1:28 is an early 60's non-commercial KENMORE with a coin slot/box sitting on top of it!
You have a sharp eye Kevin. That dryer is a 1962 Kenmore 600 to be exact. Looks very much like the 1962 70 series except with a console several inches shorter.
I've never seen one before except in the Sears owner's manuals. Again, great catch!
that older lady, "maggie cummings" in aparment 7C, wearing the blue pants & blouse, that just moved into the building, from chicago, is lucy ricardo's beloved landlady, "ethel mertz" (vivian vance).
Christina-
Yes I recognized Maggie Cummings aka Ethel Mertz- Vivian Vance- I love Lucy, and then her husband Ted Cummings aka Larry Tate- David White- Bewitched.
I remember SQ's like those from when I was a kid and my mother would take me to the Laundromat. I always liked the selector switches. I thought they looked like raindrops or something.
Didn't these make a funny noise during the cycle? Kind of a static-y skipping noise? I think it might have been the timer, but it was an odd sound I haven't heard since...
