Filmy car windows!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I have the same nasty film on the front windshield and back window of my '02 Cavalier. The weather is cool and cloudy today, so this may be the best time to get energetic and tackle it.

I've found that adding a few drops of a ultra dishwashing liquid to a bucket of warm water and using some old washcloths will take care of this problem.

Not Sure

if I have the same problem. I get a cloudiness on my inside of the windshield on my Fusion (avatar). It doesn't occur on the side windows. It was either Heloise or M. Stewart that I got the fix. Use a felt blackboard eraser. Works like a charm. Also when defroster is a little anemic at first on a chilly day. My car has a compartment over the rearview mirror for garage door-opener or sunglasses. I keep the eraser handy in there. My carwash has a monthly plan with a windshield sticker - go as often as you want for $21.00 (exterior only) When I'm going thru, I take the eraser and give the glass a once-over.

Sounds like a good idea, I should try it. I wish we had a decent carwash around here- one will scratch your car and the other one is tooo expensive and doesnt get clean. I usually end up washing it myself in the driveway.

Film on Windows

When I was a teenager, years ago,I used to hang out at the Chrysler dealership. One of the fellows used to detail new cars,he used Bon Ami soap that came in a bar. He would wet a cloth and make a light paste and rub on the windows, when it dried he took a terry cloth towel and wiped them off.He told meit was some sort of oil that ordinary cleaners would not remove. But his method worked excellant.Only about once a year you had to do this.I also know coke cola will take road film off of a windshield,Ive tried it in the rain,it works no more smears from the wipers.
