nice set....not sure what is up with that filter spout....I have this washer, I have 3 speed options, and adjusted the water levels since there is no mini-basket option.....this set will work great for you with the dogs......and that dryer looks like its the larger capacity concave/deeper drum.....my dryer matches the washer, well worth the 100.00

SWITCHING SPEEDS ON FF WASHERS

This is an old wise tale that just will not die. You can go from low to high with no problem and you can switch from hi to low but the clutch prevents this from happening. BUT IT WILL NOT HURT A PROPERLY ASSEMBLED AND ADJUSTED CLUTCH. I can switch the hi-low switch a hundred times during the cycle with no harm what so ever. GE would never have gotten away with making a machine that could be so easily damaged, the warranty calls alone would have cost them a small fortune.

 

The one big exception was the 1950s ST washers as they used a small break pad to holt the clutch carrier plate and if you tried to shift from hi to low while the machine was running you would quickly wear out the break pad. But they fixed this design defect early on with the V-12 models.
