Hello friends,
This will be my final report on my SQ FL.As those of you know who have been following my reports,The first unit had severe vibration problems.Walked all over the laundry room, and of course made a hell of a racket. After considerable debate, they agreed to replace it.This report covers the replacement machine. The vibration and noise problem is considerably improved, but by no means solved. In about 6 weeks of use,the machine has moved forward about 1.5 inch.It is noisy, but not to the extent of the first. These machines do not handle full loads well.Note that a full load to me is the cylinder fully loaded but not packed.Full loads are very noisy during both pulse spins and the final spin. Now the new unit has a problem-these machines have indicator lights-5 of them. One for door lock. Two to indicate washing.Three indicates rinsing.Four lights up during final spin, and the last light indicates water heating is occuring. Now,the lights don't indicate what is actually going on=sometimes the final spin light is indicated while the machine in rinsing, sometimes the opposite occurs. No big deal, but could indicate a potential problem down the road. The biggest problem with this washer is the tiny amount of water it uses.To put it in perspective,my 3.1 Frigidaire filled to about 4 inches of water when allowed to fill without clothes.I just measured the SQ,and 2 inches of depth is all.A full load of towels is thoroughly wet,but barely.Comforters?Forget it-they are not cleaned at all.Clothing is not cleaned well, and does not smell fresh.Of course, part of the blame for this goes to the Feds. The bottom line is this-this machine is inferior to my old Frigidaire in every respect-washing,rinsing,quietness,spinning.Nothing was wrong with the old washer, and I wish I had it back!My wife is mad at me!Here is what I'm gonna do.I am calling service Mon.to get the indicator light problem fixed. Then, the water level is getting raised.I hope someone can help me to do this-I don't know how to do it on a SQ.Please help.I have reason to believe that SQ monitors this site,so changing the water level will void the warranty.I don't care. The machine is of no use to me as is,so if it gives trouble so be it.I'll replace it.There is no worse feeling than to willingly pay a high price for something thinking you are getting a higher level of quality, only to find out you paid more and got less.Someone please contact me to tell me how to raise the water level. Thanks to those of you who have followed this saga with me.
