Finally my 59-WCI is home !

Hi everyone!
My 59-WCI finally arrived today! Sorry no pics now but there will be in the coming days. The washer looks ok. It needs alot of work on the chrome,cabinet,etc. I plugged it in but no motion. It makes a humming sound. BUT THE CONTROL PANEL LIGHTS UP! I am not mechanical in any shape or form. I am hopeful that someone in the Atlanta area will come to my rescue. I am missing the dispensing cup from under the cap. It is that common? How can I find one?
The tub looks pretty good. It does have a few rust marks but no holes that I can see. The top of the control panel has some heavy residue / rust. Any suggestions? I have been using Turtle wax in the bottle with red top. Some scatches on top of the lid of the washer and sides. I have seen washers in worst shape than mine!
If anyone lives in the Atlanta area and could possibly help me -it would be greatly appreciated! I would love to hear comments, suggestions, advice,etc.

Hey Derrek, congrats on the 59-WCI. I don't live in the Atlanta area but wish i did.....would love to help you work on one of these machines........but anyway......congrats on your "new" machine!

You have a Multimatic and no mechanical experiance?? You may be in for some fun filled lessons! Prime the pump with hot soapy water before you do try the machine out again.

The humming sound may be the motor start capacitor. The start cap is easy to replace, and only cost about $10.00 or so. The motor cap is located in the control panel in my 60, however it may be located on the side of the motor on a 59. The motor capacitor is black bakelite, and round. Two wires attach to it. If the cap is attached to the side of the motor, it will be under a protective metal shield. Be sure the power is disconnected before you try to work on your machine.
