Finally my Hoover Twin Tub arrives from CA

This has something called "Automatic Rinse" don't know what thats about, but there is a little spout on the spinner side for spray rinsing.
I'l missing the fill hose, with persumably the end that fits the auto rinse thingy..
More pics once my camera charges some...
Oh yes, I tested it, it seems to work as it should!

I had one

I had one many years ago. Found it a trash pile and brought it home (living with parents at the time). I fixed it for $1.25 - just needed a belt. Sold it for $10 to the orkin man long time ago.. I would love to have one again.

my mom had a kitchen full of harvest gold stuff too... ugh..
this TT is in great shape, will post some more pics once my camera charges some.

It looks mint! Congrats on your new washer, you'll have lots of fun with it.

The automatic rinse feature allows you to place the clothes from the wash-tub into the spinner basket, after spinning out the wash water, you turn on the water at the faucet, set control to automatic rinse and let the machine take over. It will fill to a specified level, spin out the water and will continue this operation until you turn off the water and set to spin. Depending on the load in the spinner, it may take quite a few rinse 'cycles' before the detergent residue is removed. A neighbor of ours washed for a family of five with a Hoover just like this and used to wash for two cycles of the wash timer (approx. 10 minutes) and would let the auto-rinse run the whole time or until the water was clear coming from the drain hose during the spin periods. Spin the load for 3-4 min. after rinsing is done and switch the load and start all over.

I suspect this won't be a "daily driver" but it is a lot of fun to play with and certainly a great example of Hoover history. Good luck and have fun!

Ok guys...

Fred: How about if I bring it to you? You have a laundry tub in the basement. see below for why...
Greg: To use this thing today, I had to push it out the back door and test it on the deck...I ran the drain hose to the sump pump thats in the stairwell back there.
I did a 1/2 load of laundry in it, some socks, a couple of t shirts, and some unmentionables. I filled it with the garden hose. My roomie Kevin came out back and watched it work and me work... he thought it was neat, and loved the spinner...
I don't have a laundry sink(yet) but there may yet be one in the downstairs bathroom.
This will not be a daily driver....
The sump pump was shooting suds and mountain spring tide flavored water off the back of the deck...
Toggle: You're welcome anytime, you don't need a washer as an excuse to ring my doorbell.

Well I kinda felt like....

Granny Clampett doing laundry on the back porch last night, especially since with the warm weather there were people going back and forth to the park via the sidewalk beyond my deck, and the sound of the spinner was catching their attention as they walked by.

The nice part is this thing will fit in my trunk, so I'll be happy to bring it over. It was my hope to have it for the mini meet last month, but instead we will have it for the next one.

Hoover Splashmatic!!!

Welcome to the Hoover SplashaRama club, your machine looks like the similar model here from around 1976, BUT we never did colour...pah..

These machines do a fab wash and ALWAYS produce a Hoover "SPLAT"...just as the clothes are gathering speed and perhaps bundling together you will see the pulsator move them all in a heap and the water surges from one side of the tub to the other producing the "SPLAT" which normally happens in front of the machine just where the two tubs meet...LOL

This machine benefits from the auto rinse which will carry on rinsing until the cows come home or you swith off the water and spin selector...

It also benefits from the spinner emptying the washtub...superfast style..

looking forward to hearing about it...
