Robert (and others) - search for Lincoln UK, both in 2D birds eye view and 3D view - bear in mind the castle and the cathedral are almost 1000 years old. Bear in mind the cathedral was one of the world's tallest buildings before skyscrapers came about, and that it can be seen up to 30 miles away.

High Street, Lincoln's main shopping street, in the downhill CBD. The stone arch you see across the middle of the High Street with the clock on, the Stonebow, which is Lincoln's Guildhall still in use today.

Also, the High Bridge (over the river), is one of the country's only remaining bridges with buildings still in regular use on it.

Robert,

I flew over London yesterday too. I felt like the flying nun! LOL

My roof has always been gray, still is, but I guess it is the sun that gives it sort of a red glow. The street to the right of mine is a block that has red roof tiles. The population density is quite high indeed.

Jon,

Wonderful pictures!! Lincoln looks beautiful from the air. Lincoln cathedral looks a bit like Westminster Abbey, doesn't it?

Hi Pete,

Matty's house is what most modern estate housing looks like across most of the country. Because we're so close to the City, they're trying to increase the density, to bring down housing costs and increase affordability.

Most new houses in Australia are Brick Veneer, which is a concrete slab base, with a wooden frame, and Brick outer walls to provde weather proofing. So similiar to the US constuctions.

The big difference here, is nobody has a basement, at best you get a little bit of storage in the breezeway under the house. If its new with a concrete slab, then forget it :)

Funny you should say that! The interiors of Lincoln Cathedral was used for the scenes set in Westminster Abbey in the Da Vinci Code film!

I love all the green space just outside Groningen it looks like a short bcycle ride from the city to the country?

No my truck is just to the right its red. I think the large white thing is my parents RV Van they brought down 5 years ago.
That was before I had bought the big brown truck.

I must play with the computer and see if I can get the 3d feature working, Robert was kind enough to scout me out and send me the picture to post.

Bensenville

Is like 10 miles from here? Maybe a little less but not much.
The city of Chicago wants to level a chunk of it for O'hare expansion.
Here's another shot of the area, the pushpin is my house. Elk Grove Village is where my parents live.
You can see how close I am to O'hare too

Jon those pictures of Lincoln are just breathtaking. After you posted the picture of your house the other day, I did fly over Lincoln, it looks like a wonderful place to live. It is all so fun to see. What I find really interesting is to compare two of the pictures that I posted with two of the pictures you posted. Granted Lincoln is a smaller city than Minneapolis, but it is fascinating to see the HUGE difference in the way we built our oldest sections of our cities (the downtown or central area) between Europe and America. But what is even more AMAZING (and somewhat sad I must say) now is the pictures of our new suburban shopping centers, they look almost the same, we could switch the two shopping centers in the bottom pictures and no one would notice! But try swapping Lincoln's and Minneapolis' central shopping street. I have a feeling as time goes on more of the world will look exactly the same and we will lose more and more of our regional differences.

What easy, piece of cake thing am i missing

My address is 4458 Lakeshore Road Hamburg NY 14075. Trying repeatedly, I am told I do not exist. Is it because I have parks on either side of me and Lake
Erie behind me or am I truly a techno moron.

Would someone else like to try for me? Thanks.

Mike is this it?
