Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Wow - what a find! Amazing what is still out there, especially in this condition. Does it need transmission help?

Also - that 58-62 lint chaser ring is in really, really good shape. It would make a great canadate for Bud’s repo efforts. He has molds for the correct black cap and ring for your WO-65-2.

Congratulations! I am curious about your diaphragm or pulsator or energy ring. It seems to be the tan one of a later model, not the black one original to this machine or even the gray one used in 56. If that one works in this machine, Bud would not have to worry about dealing with the problems he had in trying to reproduce the one for the WO65-2.

Yes Tom .....

that is an interesting question! It may be an old reproduction one made by Customline that was a dark gray neoprene when new .... and has turned that dark tan patina like all the old neoprene parts do. I added a picture below of a nos gray Customline energy ring that was once made to replace these old "shorter" pulsators.

Ben, I came across a NOS yellow ring still in the sealed plastic package ..... but hard as brick. The mold I made out of the old one I had actually turned out pretty good. You have one of those yellow rings I did. The pink one too. The pink mold came from a pristine pink ring Tom let me borrow which made a beautiful mold!

Congratulations Eugene!! This is such a fun machine, especially with no outer tub the sounds it makes going into spin are super cool. Is this your first Unimatic?

The pulsator looks nearly new, did the machine come with that Pulsator or did you change it?

Frigidaire made replacement pulsators in that exact light gray color (which have a tendency to turn beige over time). The Customline ones are a very dark gray.

My first

I’ve worked on one, but it was a much newer 1-18 with a perf tub. My friend bob has one and I helped get it going.

I honestly don’t know much about it. The bellows that I got are the water seal and an oil seal, not the large diaphragm agitator bellow.
