I just bought a small pack of Finish Ultimate tabs to try.  So far no major foaming issues with soft water.  Tony made baked ziti a few days ago and the dish had burned cheese on it.  I didn't let him pre-scrub just to see what would happen.  It came out of the KUDI23 spotless.

Greg, I've been using Finish products since I got the new Bosch May 2021. I've found it to be far superior to Cascade products. No foaming is the first improvement. Cleaning performance is far better too, although I'm not sure if it's the detergent or a far superior dishwasher.

Finish ultimate

I saw these at meijer, they had two bags buy one get one half off so i bought two, i tried them in my dishwasher (ge portable with stainless steel interior) and i waa very disapointed, i put the trays from my air fryer in after cooking hamburgers, and these did not even remove all of the hamburger residue, so the next week i cooked the same burgers on the same trays and ran the same cycle with cascade complete gel "advanced" (from costco) and the trays came out literally 100 percent clean! Totally unacceptable considering how expensive they are, i can get a huge bottle of the cascade for around $10.

Finish Ultimate

I purchased a small bag of them about 2 weeks ago and have had absolutely brilliant results. Out of all Finish and Cascade products, these do foam a lot less and my glassware is crystal clear. Haven't had any trouble with dishes not getting clean, even the very dirty stuff.

These foamed badly for me, perhaps they changed the formulation since the ones I bought 8 years ago. They were labeled the same and had the PowerBall. I tried them with the PowerBall removed and they still foamed. I'm talking foaming to the point that there were drips on the floor...

I switched to Cascade Platinum with generic powder in the first wash and never had foaming or performance issues. I still have 1/2 the box and use the Finish packs from time to time if a load is really greasy. I should try using half of one in the first wash minus the PowerBall, that might be the way to get rid of them. Half of one in my ultrasonic cleaner works well too.

Dishwasher is a late 90's Whirlpool-KitchenAid with the PowerClean pump and softened water.

Over here I've always found Fairy, which is the equivalent of Cascade, way too foaming in my Miele dishwasher. It works very well but it's just you can hear the dishwasher choking on foam.

Finish is excellent and seems to get consistently brilliant results without any significant foam at all.

I've tried Miele's own brand tablets and honestly wasn't very impressed. They're OK, but they're nothing amazing.I found they didn't tackle tomato stains on plastic very well, whereas I've had zero issues with Finish, Fairy or Sun, which is sold here and is the French version of the Unilever detergent.

Finish convert...

After trying Finish Ultimate as a Cascade fan, I am about ready to become a Finish convert. I couldn't believe how powerful it was in my Kenmore (Bosch) dishwasher. I noticed that the pump actually ran smoother with Finish, whereas Cascade made the pump sound like it was laboring due to foam. Yesterday's test was torture for this dishwasher, yet Finish Ultimate came through. Oh, and the tabs were red, white, and blue. Very patriotic in my opinion. To match, I will try Finish rinse aid in the green apple scent and give whatever Cascade products to the Baptist Student Ministry so they could use it in their Bosch 800 with crystal dry. I'll be sticking to Finish as a convert after testing. Oh, and we have pretty hard water here.[this post was last edited: 11/29/2023-22:46]
