Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Great picture of the wash action there - you can really see the power of the pulsator - I want to get another one now, seeing that!! I am going to have to make space for it somehow. Glad it turned out to be fully working too :-)

Hey Tom.
ooh not far from the Hoover plant eh? Well can u get down there and ask them to make these machines again lol.
Yea the Other half got home last night and was like WTF but once he saw it was a hoovermatic he said " oh i like that i used to use them in school" Am i winning ;-p so far so good. How will i explain the next one though lol.

Hoovermatic

Hello Si & Welcome to the club, lots of interesting machines, vids & pics to while away your time, for your first machine you picked a good one, this colourway is my favourite Hoovermatic, It will not become long before 1 becomes 10 and you are sneaking them in everywhere...

Heres a short vid of mine in action showing the autorinse!!!

Looks good,

Oh the other word of warning, you will find yourself unable to look at houses if you should want to move without reckoning up if the kitchen taps will fit twinny hoses, alcoves and pokey's to store them and the kitchen sink being able to take a U hook for the drain hose without toppling out while the spinners pumping out the suds like Niagara Falls.

Told ya t'was a way of life hahaha :)

Hey Chestermike.

IT WAS YOU! your video was the one that made me decided i wanted this style Hoovermatic as my first lol.
Yes already been looking around this place to see how many more i could get in hehehehe .

Hi Aquarius24
Yea yours looks to be in great condition too., Don't you just hate these mixer taps for the Twin tub pipes lol.
Found if i screw the end off my mixer then the pipe fit perfect.Well as long as i don't give to much pressure or it spurts out over the windows lol.

Well I'm having a cuppa then have 3 big loads of washing to do YaY! gonna have some fun today i think.
Si

Well the Hoovermatic is going really well at the moment. Now I've sussed the amount of clothes to put in works really well. Only thing it doesn't seem to like are Jeans. especially very tough ones. Anyone got tips for them?
Still can't get over how quick u can do a wash in it. Did a load of bath towels and one i deliberately got dirty by wiping the tilled floor round the kitchen. (white towels btw) washed them in a v hot wash for the 4 mins. and.... SPOTLESS. I'm impressed.

Jeans...

Though I've never washed jeans on my Hoovermatic (towels being the most common thing washed in it), but I've heard that the just hate them full stop. Someone did mention washing them one at a time though.

RE: Deliberately getting things dirty, most common trick I pull to bulk up a load or make multiple loads LOL!

Ha.
Yea well you gotta have some "items" to wash haven't you lol.
Yea i found with really soft jeans adding a few other things like pants or socks or t shirts then it works fine.
But used it with a solid pair of jeans and it REALLY didn't get on well lol

Well just finished a Huge wash.
Had 5 loads in total. And i guess i was being fussy as changed the water probably bit more than i needed too.Well apart from the pair of jeans that turned the water Dark blue lol. The auto rinse worked Very well and i found measuring softener into a jug full of water (approx 3-4 pint) then poured over the clothes after the last rinse. PERFECT.
What I'm really surprised about was the fact that u can wash all those odds and sods u have lying around when the water is a bit took dirty to use for clothes again whereas u usually put off washing them in a normal machine as u have to put on a separate wash just for them.
Washed a pile of dusters. and also a few odd Tea towels that were hanging around. Oh and the 1 shirt that was too dark to go with the whites but too white to go with the darks lol.
Im Converted. All we have to do now is pester Hoover to start making them again. Or at least make a short production run ;-p

Hi Si.

Sounds like you have had a grand day twin tubbing!

'Or at least make a short production run ;-p'

Your statement got me thinking!
A 'New Wave' Hoovermatic would have been rather smart, though a shame that it couldnt have had pop in pop out dials.

Piccy below shows Rob (Aquarius1984), Mike (ChesterMike) and Alex (SuperElectronic) indulging in some twintubbing with mine and Rob's T5054.

Hey Paul. Great to hear from ya.
Yea i actually Emaild Hoover last week with my suggestion and had a rather curt Email back saying there was not enough demand and that there were no current plans to produce a twin tub.
I suggested they had a survey on their website as they maybe sup prised by how many people would like a new one.
Great pic of you guys. Be good to meet up with u at some point Do you guys get together every few mnths for a day of twin tub talk ?
Si

Unfortunately, the reality will be that I dont think any manufacturer selling machines in the UK would even consider producing a twin tub.

Though, judging by some of the prices that machines go for on ebay, there is call for them out there somewhere.

Can but dream of a New Wave version though, with a lovely sweep across on the front facia as well as the dial facia on top, plus some lovely neons glowing green.

I am sure you will meet up with us somewhere, sometime soon.

As Rob will confirm, I live in the dark ages and just stick to Youtube, e-mail and this forum. Though Rob tries to get me to do 'msn' and 'facebook', I have yet to take the plunge.

Paul

Well I've just asked on here if anyone has tried these new POLAR twin tubs. the jet stream or the crystal jet.
They look quite good as are bigger than some of them and the Crystal jet has a metal body.
Few reviews on some of the similar ones say that they are flimsy but most of those reviews are for a different make. also the agitator flat at the bttm of the wash tub looks quite interesting. although i don't think anything would have that excitement and power of a Hoovermatic when the paddle starts lol.
Well I'm on yahoo and Msn so if rob ever fancys adding me be my guest.
Si
