Fisher & Paykel GWL15

So last week my wife and I bought ourselves a brand new F&P GWL11 along with the DE08 dryer. Delivery is scheduled for today, so I haven't even tried them out yet. I just looked at Fisher & Paykel's website today and so they've come out with the GWL15 and IWL16 washing models. Anybody know specifically what's different about the GWL15 over the GWL11. The specifications on F&P's website are exactly the same for the two models. I only saw coloring differences on the control panel. Anybody else know anything?

I took a look there last night. The links to User Guides bring up the GWL11 and IWL12 documentation, so no joy on those points (not yet).

Unless there's some redesign to the wash basket and/or agitator and/or motor to account for better efficiency (less water and/or electricity), it's likely due to program/cycle/rinsing changes or maybe slightly lower water levels and/or slightly reduced water temperature points.

Be interesting to see what are the details. Since they've jumped four number-series on the models (GWL11->GWL15 and IWL12->IWL16) one would think there'd be substantial changes ... but perhaps not.

my guess is just lower water usage. The energy ratings (at least the Aussie ones) deem a certain energy usage based on the hot water used - the energy isn't actually used by the washer, it is used by the water heater.
Therefore when the makers cut the water usage, the energy figure improves too.

I don't know the actual model change for sure, just posted this to explain how the energy figures work.

will they ever??

Anyone know if they will ever launch their tls in the uk market?? They are still great on water consumption compared to conventional TL's so why not?
I know I am being a blinkered but at least they would have "one" sale here..... ME!

Are you sure they are not available anywhere in UK? Quite some years ago I was at a home show and on the FP display they had a world map with lines radiating out to show where the FP machines were exported to, and I'm pretty sure they had a line going to UK. After all we have the same voltage and current, unlike USA where a special 110 volt version had to be engineered.

Count me in too - first heard about the F&P several years ago, and have coveted one ever since!

Did e-mail F&P in New Zealand a couple of years back, and also spoke to their UK office on the telephone, asking if they had any plans to introduce these machines here. Their answer was "no", because there isn't enough demand in the UK for top loaders in the first place, and that's before you even consider competition from the H-axis TLs and American imports already on the market. The volumes would be too low, making it neither practical nor economic to ship these machines from the other side of the world.

Disappointing, but it kind of makes sense I suppose.
