Fixing Maytag Jetclean DW racks

Am going to have to go get pics to upload but basically the upper
rack has a tine where half of the coating is gone

Can I remove the part that is bare and shove a tine tip on it

Is this the older reverse rack design? I saw some very nice racks for those machines on eBay recently.
