Have you ever met the Panasonic RC-6900 from 1970? I’ve pretty much got her working.
A cool piece of engineering, she tells the time with a moving magnetically recorded disc.
If you ever find one of these and the radio has no audio - it is a classic and easy fix. There is an open connection at the terminal strip at the very front of the radio. “Gertie” sounded more masculine than I liked. Fixing some of the “grease to glue” on the voice mechanism helped.

Oops. Hit the wrong button

Have you ever met the 1970 Panasonic RC-6900? She announces the time using a female voice on a magnetically recorded rotating disc.
These had a common problem - loss of all audio. The fix is to install a jumper at the terminal strip where the chassis meets the speaker and jack-pack.
She sounded a bit masculine when first fired up. “Grease to glue” syndrome set in. Once that corrected she sounded better.
I wanted to post a video of her telling time, but it appears that is not possible. If you know how, please let me know.

Never heard of it before and now I want one :) That would have been something drool worthy to me as a 14 y.o at the time. It was a big deal getting a clock radio with flip over numbers.
