Flippin Out's...Jeff...

Amen, ~sudsshane. I am sick of all the stereotypes as well. My brother showed us "Queer Eye" and didn't understand half of of the humor (a rather indelicate reference) but thought we should love it.

Laundress, I was a bit surprised by your post about contractors, implying they would have problems with gay men. We have been doing lots of remodeling at our house and have had several fine tradesmen here without any issues at all (It helps that my parter was a GC for many years before going into Real Estate). But, overall, I find that contractors appreciate clients who have a clue about what actually is going on and pay their bills on time and don't care a hoot about who sleeps with whom.

Just my $0.02.

After reading this thread....

I decided to watch a few episodes of "Flipping Out" myself.

Ugh!
That Jeff reminds me of Jonathan, the hairdresser from a previous Bravo show. What a queen! Actually let me rephrase that, what a rich queen! It seems that he expects the world to bow down to him. He should move to Texas, where at least the size of the state would match his ego! At the least he seems to be a spoiled brat. I wonder if he was one of these that had Mommy & Daddy hand over a mil or two and tell him "Have a nice life". That happens more in the real world than you would believe! Neither one of those guys seem very old.

His friend isn't all that bad, actually he seems pretty level headed. I kinda feel sorry for him.

And the drama! The hissy he threw over having onions yet again on his food was just too much. Hasn't anyone ever told him if having onions on his food is just that important, why can't he just go pick up the order himself! Has anyone ever told him that he qualifies as a bitch?

Now I am not gay bashing here, but this show does reinforce my opinion that the more money one has (gay or straight) the more dysfunctional behavior you are allowed to get away with!

Now they should make a Flippin Out Special. It would depict Jeff's carrying ons when his real estate empire crashes in the latest housing crunch. He'd be stuck with all these houses with nobody to buy them. High drama guaranteed!

But in reality, the housing crunch doesn't affect the type of homes Jeff deals in. Only the kind us "lowly" people live in.
