Well, These Guys just got restless. They are just tired of sitting around and really depressed.

Well, about 2 weeks ago, Our lovely stevet and I had a chat.

I told him I was planning on coming down to Florida for a vacation before the restaurant opened.

After some conversation, he's taking the KDS 20 and the KDS 17A

Here are the Kids all bundled up for the Express Ride to Sunny Warm Florida.

Eddie, that's why I made the comment. I don't wanna see you go through all that. For us whoo love these, it's quite emotionally draining and I just wanna make sure ...

they look very happy

to be going to their new home! even if they are all covered up and smothering for awhile!

that kds-17a is the one that caught my eye! i just love those machines! don't have a 20, it's the only model i don't have but not too worried about it. i have enough!

yea don't be as stupid as me, i'm sure you won't. then again these dishwashers will not be as top heavy as that custom imperial was, still can't believe it flipped right over the side of the truck bed! oh well it had a good ending. it caused me to completely tear it down and i learned a lot from it. and now it is almost ready to run with the outer tub restored and painted, the transmission all cleaned up and back together, the motor oiled, and the top almost as good as new! so it wasn't a tradgedy after all! it was an adventure!

have a great trip and i'm sure steve will love those beautiful kitchenaids, who wouldn't love a kds-17a in harvest gold!

I admit it too.....

every time I load something in my truck, I cringe thinking about Pete loosing that Custom Imperial over the side. Even before his accident, I had learned from my brother how to secure large items. Now, I double and sometime triple-strap things down before putting the truck into Drive.

Their quarters are all ready, Eddie!

Just sold the KDC21D to a local guy in Palm Coast who wanted a machine that cleaned and dried better than his current LG 3 yr old D/W.

So now I have the room in the garage for them. You know what will be happening to the 20 and the 17 still has a special place here if she makes her permanent residence here too.

Make sure you put some good cushioning between them and the tailgate and the opposite side of the truck to so they don't go sliding around. The Plastic wrap can sometimes aid in the sliding action.

Make sure you keep in touch with me as you get closer.

See you on Wednesday! Will be great to decide just how to approach this re-creation!

Ohhhh Boyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, Here we go.

Hello there Mr Gansky.

Yes, Steve's Wife Faxed over all the Important Paperwork with all i's dotted and the t's crossed LOL.

Yes Steve there is a "Spacer Implement" between the Kids and the Tailgate (Cinder Block), JUST KIDDING !!!

The Palet Wrap that they are Bound and Gagged with is good stuff. Because of what Cancer Causing properties it's made of, They don't budge.

I just got in from a Test run to see if the Physics that I had in mind matched up with what they had in mind. Strangly enough... We both guessed right.

Turning off an Exit Ramp at 72 miles and hour, and watching in the rear view mirror, they didn't budge.

At 95 MPH there was know "Lift Affect".

Solid, Stable and Ready to Roll.

(Now, they will probably be stolen right in the Hotel parking lot loaded with Surveilence Cameras)

Now I see them..NO I don't!

Hopefully the cameras actually work! The ones where my wife works look pretty but are not connected to anything! The deterrent factor I guess!

Safe and Sound and somewhat Unbound!

Well the K(a)ids made it down to Florida just fine and Ed and I brought them to my garage for safe keeping. In our enthusiasm to check them out or at least mine.. we tore open the wraps on the 17A and lo and behold it was like taking it out of the original shipping carton. It wasn't until we were eating dinner that we realized we had not taken any pictures of them on their arrival. We will try to get some as this project progresses!(see below)

The 20 was left alone as I know it will be just as pristine as the 17.

I had Ed all hopped up about turning the 20 into a Frankenaid with the controls of the 17 and all the electricals as well, moved over to the 20's chassis to take advantage of the great cycle selections of the 17,the 180 degreee Sani rinse and a retro look with the 17 control panel. But it looks like it is not to be this time around.

There is this Older woman in Orlando who's son contacted me about a set of racks for her 40 year old 17 machine and when I told him about this one and that it was the same color as her machine(KDC17) they both decided that they would take the whole machine and really get an upgrade in the package.

So a price was agreed upon and they will probably be picking it up this week.

So Ed, if you head back here when I come back from my short vacation, We will have at it on the 20 and make it back into an 18! You know how my wife just loves those fast cycles and I love the 180 degree rinse!

I think there will be more to come of this saga so we will keep you all informed.

Eddie

should have planned a few stopovers along the way down to Florida, we have members all along the east coast, just in case something happens and you need help, or just to say Hi!
