Well, I did get my annual flu shot, so this is probably not the flu, but it's been a pain anyway. The main symptom has been burning sinuses and copious flow of that which makes one need to blow one's nose, and tears. Oddly, the symptoms disappear when I'm in bed - but they come back with a vengeance once I get up and start walking around.

Good news is that after two days' bed rest the thing is starting to retreat. A little sniffly achy grouchy today, but much better than yesterday.

I suppose it gives me an excuse for ignoring the various chores lined up for the 4 day weekend, as well, LOL. And it gave me a chance to catch up on the DVD collection (such as reviewing the heartwarming "The Days of The Week" episodes from the SCTV boxed set).

"Monday... Tuesday... Wednesday... Thursday... Friday... Saturday... Sunday... these... are The Days of the Week."

LOL!

My condolences, Ken. Stomach flu not fun.

Last time I had the real flu was about 15 years ago. I was flat on my back in bed for two days, 104 delerious fever and all, barely able to get up during that time, and sick for an entire week, bad lingering cough, it was really a horrible experience. Since then I've had flu shots every year and usually just get these bad sinus colds now and then.

This too shall pass in a blaze of glory.

OMG! sorry to hear that you guys!

In my case I have a headache, fever, runny nose sinus and bronchial congestion.
What is truly annoying is the hot-to-comfortable-to-cold flashes that keep coming in waves. Somebody get me some estrogen!
I have been taking over-the-counter remdies only at night to be able to sleep. FEH! There are so many chemicals in me Aat this point (after 5 days)that I was strung-out and wide awake every 1/2 hour!

A rapid healing to all!

So many believe that being ill over new year's day is an omen of things to come. I see it as the body attempting to purge the frustrations and the negative occurrances of the prior year.
