Thought this might be some fun for us to do. Mine ended up being 4.4 planets or 19.1 acres.

Most of my answers weren't choices. I never buy prepared food and almost everything to come into the house is recycled or used. The pieces that hits hardest is being a single occupant without family members to create a better average. 1'm 4.5 planets.

I'm 4.1 planets. 25.8 global hectares.

I'm not suprised at all. I don't participate in many 'green' movements or activities. Take recycling. I do recycle glass, but that's about it. I was doing plastic until the drop off site put up a sign saying they only take certain kinds of plastic and I have to look at the number on the bottom.

Plastic is plastic, damn it. Either take it all or none at all.

I guess I still have the most impact here with 5.3 planets o

I cant believe som eof their suggestions to cut down your footprint.
They suggest serving vegetarian meals, never happening here, I serve meats at every meal.

I cant conserve electric when everything is run on electric, no gas service available, or public water.Besides this is Pennsylvania, our electric comes from coal.

Conserve gas and carpool or walk, Impossible when you live in the middle of nowhere and the only thing in walking distance is a pasture.Unfortunately we have to go to work everyday, myself having the shortest commute at 16 miles one way, everyone else in my home drives 30-40 miles one way.

Recycle paper and plastics, not happening recycling is unheard of here, If it counts I burn those items so they dont go to a landfill.

In all reality there is no possible way for me to conserve unless I move and its not happening.

the odd thing is...

I am no greenie. Yet I couldn't answer a number of questions 'cause they didn't have an answer for me. Example: I buy maybe 5-10% of my food as 'processed food.' Yet there was no answer for that.

My car gets 40 mpg and nothing is that efficient. Etc.

It said 14 hectares...

My Stats

4 Plants & 25.2 Global Hectares

Areas Of Footprint
==============
Food: 24%
Shelter: 38%
Mobility: 5%
Goods: 7%
Services: 26%

Breakdown Of Footprint
==================
Energy Land: 69.1%
Crop Land: 15%
Grazing Land: 3.2%
Forest Land: 10.9%
Built-Up Land: 0.8%
Fishing Land: 1%

This was fun. Here are my stats, but I am wondering about some of the questions.

You are asked how much you spend on electric and natural gas, but utility rates vary so this may not indicate how much you actually use.

You are asked about driving but the lowest number of miles you can select is 100, so what happens if you only drive 4 miles a week?

You are asked if you car pool, but if you don't drive to work so you could car pool what is the choice here?

I couldn't find out how many acres I use. How do you convert hectares to acres?

Shelter: I already follow their suggestions for being energy efficent and yet my shelter percent is 78.4%

Still this was a lot of fun because watch this show on the planet green channel

Xraytech made an interesting comment about Electricity. We both live in PA. His electricity comes from coal. Mine comes from 2 nuclear reactors so I wonder if they are considering the actual source of energy.

How are the calculations done?

I have 6.2 hectares or 2.9 planets. But I see also: 17.8 hectares or 4.2 planets; 13 hectares or 6.2 planets; 20 hectares or 4.8 planets. So, the number of hectares seems not to be directly proportional to the number of planets
