Everybody Loves a Parade (of homes)

Well my mom sure did when were growing up. Whether we were driving to Toronto or Detroit back in the day if she saw the flags a fluttering at a parade of homes we had to stop and trudge thru them all. Actually I didn't mind but it sure irked my dad.

Love those homes. There's one somewhat similar to #6 around the corner from us. I envy that house everytime I walk by with the dogs.

They Look Beautiful On Paper

I recently had occasion to spend a few days in one part of Tucson and saw neighborhoods filled with the types of homes shown on the link.  The thing I noticed in these older developments is that almost no one seems to be interested in giving their home a distinctive look through landscaping, not even by using native plants.  They were just homes sitting on dusty, scrubby unkempt lots, and hardly the vision of the developers' architectural renderings.

It strikes me that Tucson is ripe for some MCM revival as the project in the link is attempting to foster, but just some pride of ownership would go a long way.
