Are you meaning the exhaust fan in on the left side, partially hidden by the Osterizer Classic VIII?

Back when I was a smoker, and before I had the ceiling fan I used that exhaust fan ALOT for smoke... I ran it so much that it burned out!
Luckily I was able to find the "guts" at Home Depot and all works well again.

I'll get a picture of that tonight.

Great collection Jeff! The one vintage blender I saved is my Cyclomatic. I like its looks and its uniqueness. It's like the second picture only with the white handle and trim.

I have that same type of exhaust fan too. It's on the ceiling above my stove and is probably the best exhaust fan I've ever used, far superior to those hood things people usually have today. Glad to know Home Depot has parts if it would ever go wrong.

Jeff, I love those blenders and mixers! I took pictures of them when i was at your home awhile back. I have a few blenders myself but most are in storage. I'm currently working on a display room at my folks house. Will have to take pictures then! Here's the one i have in the kitchen. A Sunbeam 8 speed. I also have a custom 20. Is yours white? Mine is harvest gold.

Marty my Custom 20 is white/brown, found on ebay maybe 3 years ago new in the box from 1974.

The one pictured is also Oster made, but from the late 60's I think.
I like the jars with the plastic handle and metal band, so classy looking!

Nothing made today looks as nice!

Marty, that model Sunbeam is from around 1968 iirc. Our neighborlady Nosey Nellie had that model and when we lived next door to her I'd have been about 12 thru 14 y.o. she also had a cool Sunbeam MM I wished that my mom would have.. LOL

Sunbeam/Oster

Sunbeam and Oster shared blenders in the 60's. The Sunbeam blenders were an Oster motor with a Sunbeam jar that was round. The round jar liquified and blended more quickly than the traditional square jar from Oster. In the 50's Sunbeam sold a blender attachment that connected to the 10, 11 and 12 models. The jar was rectangular. In 1960 Sunbeam made a free standing two speed blender using the same rectangular jar that was paired with the attachment. It was white with lots of Gold accent. It has a large dial on the front with the ubiqitous Sunbeam escutcheon emblazed with the shadowed S. All of the these blenders were VERY good machines. In the mid 70's Sunbeam tried to break into the "value added" market and sold Vista appliances that were less heavy and less durable. On several of those models they had 20 speeds by using a high/low shift and 10 pushbittons. Typically the blade assembly freezes after exposure to the heat and water of the dishwasher. Sometimes they can be freed with WD40 and as long as they don't sit in water or the dishwasher they'll run for years. Few people ever run a blender for long periods so they tend to last a "lifetime" I currently have a Kitchenaid. It is slow to liquify, but it is so quiet, I don't mind letting it run, until the desired results occur. Kitchenaid has a customer service program that is simply the best in any small appliance sold in America. After the divorce and starting over, I left the vintage behind, with the exception of a few Sunbeams, a 10, 12 and 2 MMs, sandlewood and chrome.

What about the REAL Sunbeam blenders from the late 60's and early 70's?
There was an 8 speed model, and a 16 speed model, I found one in a junk store back in the 90's and it was one LOUD machine!

Naturally I have that Sunbeam model BL lol. This one is in mint shape, I doubt it was ever used much at all. 400 watts. The glass jar is similar to the Mixmaster jar except for the molding of the glass bottom they are not interchangeable, the lids are. Can't quite see in the pic but there's a blending guide on the gold front much like the mixing guide on the Mixmasters.

Thank you for the picture of the Sunbeam Blender. New, it came with a white lid that had a removable cap for adding ingredients.
Jeff, in 1966, Sunbeam began selling rebadged Oster blenders. They were in varying weights and styles, but pretty much used the same motors. Often the bushing on the blade assembly is dry and sets up a rattle and moan. The early ones with the slide in 7, 5 and 3 speed all had a stainless wrapped housings and are very solid, reliable machines. There was a Vista model with white accents and handle made at the same time and also a two speed with a round base that came in white, sandlewood and chrome. The jar did not have a banded handle.

Both of those blenders are of Oster derivation. I bought the Vista for my mother for a Mother's day present in 1967. She still has it.
The second blender series was released in 1971. Some were called Vista and they came in this model and one with the high/low shift. They were sold in white, tan, avacado and harvest gold. A few higher end had a chrome wrap around the body of the machine. In 1976, Sunbeam released a beautiful blender with woodgrain body almost identical the Vista model displayed on your manual. It had a brown lid and a brown banded handle and the high/low speed shift with 20 speeds. 1979 was a pivotal year for Sunbeam. The models that came after were lightened, metal was replaced with plastic and composite. The new and present Sunbeam are all Australian design and while not very heavy or durable, they are inexpensive and perform well for a short time. There is no repair or parts for new Sunbeam. In warrantee they are a trade out and afterwards it's a throw away.

Hi David, I have one of those little GE blenders in chrome but with a black handle and lid.

Here are two more pictures of Sunbeam blenders that i have. The chrome round base has an Oster jar and lid but i have since found the correct round jar and lid. The other is one of those 20 speeders with the banded jar.

You have all the blenders I have described in my posts about Sunbeam blenders. It is gratifying to have physical evidence to back me up. Thank you so much.
So it's not enough you're good looking Marty, but you have excellent taste in appliances and have Electrolux vacuums as well.
