Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Well, P&G Pods are available in Europe under Ariel's brand name in most markets.

As far as I know, they're still using the Tide brand in Italy and Portgual.

It's also Dash in Belgium, although I've seen Ariel appearing on shelves there too, so I assume they might be about to phase out the local brand.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the Tide TM disappears in Italy and elsewhere in favour of Ariel.

The US Tide Pods and EU Ariel Pods seem like a very similar product. Although, maybe the formulation is different? I'm not sure. Perhaps someone could compare the ingredients list?

The fragrance is probably slightly different too and the pods are different colours.

Ariel pods here in Ireland are blue, green and white. I think the tide pods are orange, purple and white.

So, I would guess the fragrances are possibly different too.

Here's how the look in France, the UK, Ireland etc.
the "colour" ones are purple and there are some other variations for "with Fabreeze" etc.

They're marketed as "Ariel 3-in-1 pods"

So far I've seen : Regular (blue/green/white), Colour (purple/white), with Fabreeze, Alpine Fresh and there are a few others too.

It'll be interesting to see if they bring out Daz and Bold (the fragrenced 'with softener') detergents in the same pod format too. I would guess they probably will.

In this market:

Ariel = P&G Top of the line.
Bold = P&G Top of the line with softener and special scent versions.
Daz = P&G budget brand, although it's not that much cheaper. It has a loyal audience who like the more 'old fashioned detergent' scent and history of being very good at cleaning white clothes. Although, you can use it on anything.

Have to differ on that MrX.

Daz seems to have overtaken Bold as a MOL detergent here, Bold in the ~UK is now BOL.

Ariel is the best in all round stain, odour, fabric care functions it seems but Daz is not far off its cleaning rival.

Bold OTOH is very poor at cleaning, whiteness, stain removal, and only really has its fragrance going for it - even the softness aint great.

Bold is now priced much cheaper than Daz thus making its 2in1 status BOL.

Im quite sure Daz has more in its cocktail worthy of cleaning than bold has.

Ariel 3in1 pods are available, but not everywhere in Europe.

Here in Slovenia they came out in June, but in Italy aren't jet available.
Probably they will be in the near future under the Dash brand name.

The brand Tide is no longer used in Italy. It was until the beginning of the 70's and no more after that.

@aquarius1984

It may be the worst performer of the three in terms of cleaning ability, but it's priced at a premium where as Daz is often hard discounted.

Bold's pricing is sometimes cheap, but it's not a budget brand and it's not sold as such.

The marketing doesn't necessarily mean much in terms of cleaning ability though. Ariel beats it handsdown.
