Here is a scan of the new Maytag 100 year Centennial pair. They should be available very very shortly. They're in the warehouses now. The washer is a SS tub model with a porcelain top. Sorry for the poor quality scan, but the actual sixe of the photo is about 1"x1". At least WP is trying to help the brand with nicer styling.

Whirltag

Now that Whirlpool owns Maytag,a lot of problems have come about. The most recent and serious one is the dryer. As many of us have known for decades,Whirlpool dryers(the majority of them anyway)measure out in width to a wide 29 inches. Most other brands measure out to 27 inches,So if you are replacing say a Frigidaire dryer with a Maytag,Whirlpool,Estate,Roper,Ingliss or Kenmore and your current set is a tight 54 inches with no room to spair, you are screwed.
The Whirlpool rep.told me that"This too shall pass."and by fall, there should be a whole new line of laundry products available. We'll see about that.

Hi Bob. I stopped in at Sears today and looked at the
Whirltags. Those stainless steel tubs with all those seems
do not look attractive. If I was to buy a Whirltag, I would
prefer the porcelain tub.
And Sears was selling Neptunes at the same price as the
top of line Whirltag.

I would think they would make Maytag with a porcelain tub, that is what the original Maytags had, even better, it should be blue porcelain. Whirlpool, are you listening? Just look back at the history of Maytag, which you don't seem to want to do.

And for Those Wishing to Hear the Sound of Vintage Looking M

Even if one could fully visualize such a washer model, the sound of its actual performance is all the more enlightening.--Laundry Shark
