its all in the age
Hi whirlcool.
These machines have a life of about 4-8 years before they need an expensive bearing and lower seal replacement. Unless its very cheap or brand new, its an expensive purchase.
The washing action of these machines is good, but the design has been around over here for 15 odd years, and they tend to be prone to rust, the acrylic paint flakes off, and once the lower seal goes, you quite often end up with a dead motor, or the connector for the motor shorts and melts which can cause damage all the way back to timer.
I've curbside collected quite a few of these some of which are almost brand new, and so far I've only ever bothered to rebuild one. To do that took a new seal kit and parts from 4 other machines.
In Australia, they are a very expensive purchase for their lifespan.
